Life is a changing...again.
The very first blog I posted, on May 9th 2007, I was writing about how college was over, I had just moved to Kansas City, and I was planning on marrying my lovely bride Katie in three weeks (we are almost to our 3 year anniversary). Life was changing, my paradigm in which I lived life was about to change completely. I will be graduating seminary in one week, and will be moving to a new city, in a new state...a new life.
As I reflect on the past three years, I am reminded of many things; things that made me into who I am today, and memories that will never be forgotten. My wife has taught me the meaning of patience and love - that it sometimes has to be a choice, because we are bound in covenant. Through the rough patches, we learn little things about the God who is patient with us and loves us through good and bad. I have made life long friends that I will most definitely be grieving the loss of when we move this summer. The conversations, point of views, and overall character of these men and women is something that any person would be lucky to experience. Then, I have had seminary, one of the best choices of my life. I have learned about faithful practices alongside faithful witness. The past three years, though extremely jam packed and busy, have been formative beyond words, and this blog is only a testament of the joy I have felt.
Now, life is a changing again. We start over, we struggle through change, and we embrace the provisions and blessings that God blesses us with. We mourn the loss of friends, and we celebrate with new ones. Our time in Kansas City has been incredible. So here's to you...thanks for the memories.

I am very proud of who you are and thankful that you and Katie are doing life together. You have commented that you will be grieving the loss of friends. Let me encourage you in that you will not lose any friends! On the contrary... you now have more friends and family to warmly welcome you during your many future visits to KC & Iowa. Having made several moves in my life, I see how God has blessed us with friends. Some we see on a regular basis, and others we "catch up with" when we can. But all are a treasure for a life-time.
Thanks for your encouragement to "embrace the provisions and blessings that God blesses us with." Making many moves in my life I agree with Andy - your not losing any friends. You will find that moving only broadens your understanding of social networks. Truthfully, however, this can be both an exciting and difficult measure. We are with you in spirit and likeness as you and Katie transition. Love you brother.
