Reflections on Forgiveness
The context of these thoughts derive from Matthew 6:14-15.
"The heart that does not open to forgive others will remain closed when God's own forgiveness is offered." ~N.T. Wright
It's revealing that in a culture of consumption,we could be so blind and naive to believe or think that we could consume the forgiveness of a holy God! Our perception is focused on our well being by misinterpreting God's gracious love for our right to happiness. The consumer turns a blind eye to the producer in exploitation; so if we do this willingly to God, is it true forgiveness we're being offered?
Where is the fine line of blessing (abundance) and curse (exploitation)?
How do we find the posture of receiving grace rather than consuming or expecting it?
